1) What are Inca Bootcamps?
Inca Bootcamps are a unique experience to both train and discover Peru in an amazing week of adventure. We provide Bootcamps that are full of high quality exercise classes, nutritional advice and motivated and knowledgeable trainers to create the perfect environment where you can lose weight, but more importantly learn valuable knowledge to make positive changes to your lifestyle. Inca Bootcamps have an added extra of being able to discover the amazing Peru, home to Mach Picchu. Within each day’s itinerary, we get to explore amazing sights and get to experience breathtaking landscapes and scenery. Whether you are jogging through countryside, past old Incan Irrigation systems that are still used by farmers today or hiking up to old Incan ruins, you will fall in love with Peru and all it has to offer.
2) Is Inca Bootcamps only for people who want to lose weight?
Not at all. Though many of our clients do come with the intention of losing weight or kick starting a change in lifestyle. We also get many people who want to improve their fitness whether it is increasing the cardio fitness in preparation for a race or specific event or who want to tone up.
3) I haven't done any exercise for years, am I to unfit?
We have yet to meet somebody who is too unfit for an Inca Bootcamp. The good thing at Inca Bootcamps is that we personalise training to make it personal for you and your level of fitness. At the beginning of every Bootcamp, we have a one-to-one with each participant to find out their goals and objectives and from there we make changes to personalise the program to ensure that you benefit the maximum from the holiday.
4) I am fit and don't want to lose weight, is this trip for me?
In the same way as we have never had someone too unfit, we have yet to meet somebody too fit as well. Our trainer Pawel has worked with professional athletes both in Peru and Europe and can guarantee that Inca Bootcamps will be a great addition to your training and you will return home feeling fitter than ever before.
5) How much weight can I expect to lose in a week?
This is very much dependant on your genes, metabolism, age and current fitness and how hard you work during the week. We have had excellent results and you will leave Peru feeling fitter, healthier and with the right mindset to return home and continue the excellent work that you started in Peru.
6) What is a typical Inca Bootcamp day?
Every day is unique at Inca Bootcamps, though what is consistent is that you will always take part in several exercise classes that include: Boxercise, Circuit training, Pilates, Team games, Jogging. Apart from this you may be hiking up to Inca ruins, mountain biking through the Sacred Valley, Paddle boating across a reflective lake or relaxing in natural hot springs.

7) Do you have solo travellers, couples or friends attending Inca Bootcamps?
Most people that attend Inca Bootcamps are generally on their own although we also get couples and friends that come along as well. We have also had individuals that have travelled to Peru with a partner but have attended one of our Bootcamps and met up with their partner at Machu Picchu.
8) What is the accommodation like?
The accommodation is something we're really proud of; we will be staying at the IFK Lodge, a beautiful hidden away retreat in the heart of the Sacred Valley. It sits on the Urubamba River and is the perfect place to train and relax. The accompanying restaurant is famed for its high quality and healthy cuisine.
9) I have some dietary requirements can you cater for me?
No problem, on the health questionnaire please state any dietary requirements that you have and we will ensure that you will be catered for throughout the Bootcamp.
10) What do I need to bring for the Inca Bootcamp?
When you book we will send you a recommended kit list for the Inca Bootcamp, this is when we will also send you a health questionnaire, which will include any dietary requirements.
11) What is included in the price?
We want your trip to be as memorable and as problem free as possible, which is why we make sure that everything is included in the trip. Please see each specific itinerary for detailed listing, as there are some optional extras that aren't included in the price. **Please note that international flights are not included in the price and the tour starts from Cusco.**
12) What is it like to train at altitude?
The Sacred Valley is at altitude, we will be based at 2,300m and this can be challenging at first, as there is less oxygen, your body is forced to produce more red blood cells, improving your aerobic capacity. The first few days are generally harder as it takes a while for your body to adapt. The good news is that it has been proven that you lose more weight when you train at altitude, making Inca Bootcamps the perfect location.
We generally recommend that you arrive in Cusco a couple of days before the Bootcamp starts, so that you are fully acclimatised for the start of the Bootcamp. (If you can't there is no problem).
13) Should I buy travel insurance?
We strongly recommend that you buy travel insurance before you come to Peru.
14) How do I book?
If you would like to get in contact with us prior to booking for any questions or queries you can use the contact page. To book, you just need to select book now, which will take you through to the booking page. Here, you can note our bank details and make the bank transfer. Once this has been made then please send us the details. We request that the remaining balance is paid 8 weeks prior to the start of the Bootcamp.
Once the deposit has been made, we will email you a booking form that contains a health questionnaire, emergency contact details amongst other important information. We kindly ask that this is sent back to us promptly.
15) What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that sometimes emergencies occur and prevent you from travelling. If we are able to fill your position on the Bootcamp then the full amount minus the deposit and any bank fees will be returned to you. If we are unable to refill your position then these are the rates:
Cancellation fees
More than 90 days before the start of the tour- Deposit $
89 to 61 days- Deposit
60-31 days- 100% of full price
30 days before the start of the tour- 100% of full price
(If there is genuine reason- future discounted will be available for future tours)
16) Do I need a visa?
The majority of countries do not need a visa to travel to Peru, you normally get 90 days when you arrive at the airport but if you are unsure you can visit http://visacentral.ch/visas to check.
17) I would like to have an extra week in Peru can you recommend things to do?
We strongly recommend that participants explore other parts of both Cusco and Peru, as it is truly a fascinating country. We are more than happy to help with your itinerary, recommend places or help book further trips.
18) You currently only have Bootcamps in the Sacred Valley, will you have other destinations in the future?
Yes, Inca Bootcamps will soon be appearing in other amazing places throughout the Andes.
19) Do you provide personal Bootcamps?
Yes, we provide personalised Bootcamps that can from just one day up to two weeks, please get in contact for more information.
20) How do you support local athletes?
Peru Fitness Holidays is really proud of its support of local athletic talent in Cusco. During the running holidays we hire professional athletes to be pacers plus 10% of all profit from our holidays goes into a fund to support promising athletes in their quest to become professional athletes. The talent that many of these runners have is astonishing and Cusco is the perfect location to produce world-class athletes. Currently there are good coaches but what is missing is the support that is needed for the athletes to excel. We provide this in our fund that is used for: paying for medical exams- MRI scans for injured athletes and their rehabilitation, transport to travel to competitions etc. To read more please click on the Foundation page.
